Lazy Platformer
This is the seventh game I've made without using a tutorial.
This game was made in 2 days after 0* failed attempts.
By making this I learned:
- One of many methods of faking gravity on kinematic bodies
- Jumping and platforming movement in general
- I had a really funny way of checking if the player is on a ladder since the ladders are all separate objects stacked on top of each other
Things I would have liked to fix given more time
- Enemies and pick-ups (like coins)
- Animations
- Background (I threw in a stock image that I found but it looked even worse than the blank background)
- ANYTHING to make it unique. It's an extremely bland platformer as is.
*Like seed game, this kind of is a failed attempt. I just wanted to get back in the groove of making games again, since it's been so long. The game accomplished that at least, so it is a success to me.
